A little about the program
If you enjoy making art and working on the computer then Computer Graphics is the class for you. You will learn how to use professional Adobe Creative Cloud programs like Illustrator and Photoshop Computer Graphics counts as your fine arts credit! Please note there is a $45.00 lab fee that allows students to print to specialized photo paper on a large format photo printer. A 4G flash drive is also recommended to back up and save student work. Students are requested to have a sketchbook, pocket folder and basic art supplies like color pencils available. All assignments and daily objectives will be presented through Schoology.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
LEVEL 1: Students will draw, design, layout and print a variety of computer-generated graphics and artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. They will develop skills through tutorials and guided practice. They will create several artworks including a portrait, still life and landscape project for their benchmark assessments, along with a connections research project and final written essay benchmark. Students will self-critique and apply the elements and principles of design to their artwork. They will be required to keep a sketchbook and complete daily warm ups.
LEVEL 2-4: Students will work more independently and explore techniques and design concepts learned in level 1 with a focus on authentic design problems that could be encountered in the real world AND explore areas of computer graphics that interest them. Students will prepare a high quality portfolio of best works for suitable for college.
